01 / METHOD

How to use this print time tool

  1. Enter baseline and comparison times as hours and minutes.
  2. Optionally add the number of copies and machine cost per hour.
  3. Review time saved, duration reduction, speed multiplier, and batch impact.

02 / APPLICATIONS

When it is useful

  • Compare slicer profiles
  • Quantify a nozzle upgrade
  • Estimate batch throughput and machine-time cost

03 / MODEL

Assumptions and limitations

Assumptions

  • Both estimates describe comparable models and completion criteria.
  • Hourly cost scales linearly with elapsed print time.
  • Copies print sequentially with no setup time.

Limitations

  • Slicer estimates can omit heat-up, cooldown, setup, failures, and maintenance.
  • A shorter estimate does not establish equivalent strength or quality.

04 / FAQ

Common questions

Is 50% less time the same as 50% faster?

No. Half the duration is twice the throughput, or 100% faster. The calculator reports both duration reduction and speed multiplier.

Can I compare batches?

Yes. Enter a copy count to multiply the elapsed-time and optional cost difference.

Does cost include material?

No. The optional result only multiplies entered machine cost per hour by duration.
