01 / METHOD

How to use this resin use tool

  1. Select whether volume or mass is your known value.
  2. Enter the resin density from its technical data sheet.
  3. Set waste percentage, bottle size, and price to estimate the adjusted requirement.

02 / APPLICATIONS

When it is useful

  • Price a resin print
  • Estimate bottle consumption
  • Plan material for a batch of parts

Assumptions and limitations

Assumptions

  • Resin density is uniform.
  • Bottle size represents usable resin volume.
  • Waste is applied as a percentage of the base part requirement.

Limitations

  • Hollowing, drainage holes, trapped resin, supports, and cleaning loss must be reflected in the source volume or waste allowance.
  • Do not use this estimate to determine safe handling or exposure. Follow the resin SDS.

04 / FAQ

Common questions

What counts as resin waste?

Supports, resin left on parts or tools, filtering loss, and failed exposure can all contribute.

Can I use milliliters from my slicer?

Yes. Enter that value as volume, then set density and waste for mass and cost estimates.

Does hollowing reduce the estimate?

Only when the input volume already represents the hollowed model. The calculator does not inspect geometry.
